Amy Ellis

I'm a best selling author, quilt designer and owner of Amy's Creative Side. I've hosted an online quilt festival for more than 12 years, bringing quilters together to showcase their work and cheer each other on. My passion is to encourage quilters and help them find their creative voice in the midst of our busy lives. Teaching you to trust your creative intuition makes me excited to get out of bed in the mornings! If I'm not quilting or teaching I'm usually hanging out with our family, or walking our dog Gus. With three teens in the house there's always someone in the kitchen looking for a snack and I'm there checking-in on their school work too. I learned to sew garments as a girl, then taught myself to quilt about 20 years ago. I love that quilts don't have to fit anyone, and how unique each quilt is from one maker to the next.

FAQ

  • Is Quilt Crew right for me?

    The Quilt Crew is for quilters that want support and encouragement doing what they love. While there isn't a ton of "how-to" materials included, help is just a question away. Our focus is in creating momentum and finishing quilts we love on a regular basis.

  • When do you meet online?

    Great question! On the first and Third Friday of each month at 3pm MST we connect online. Everyone is invited to hop on a call, if you are not available the replays are uploaded within two days.

  • You said community, does that mean I need to be on facebook?

    No. I wanted to create a community without distraction, inside the Quilt Crew is two sections. One is devoted to the files and the other to community, where you can post your questions, photos, and chat about your current project.

  • Is this going to be time consuming?

    Not at all! I've designed Quilt Crew to support you on your creative journey in the midst of a busy lifestyle. You can devote as much time as you would like to the process.

  • Is this a course?

    Quilt Crew is not a course with a beginning and end point. Quilt Crew will help you make progress in your quilts, and explore a variety of topics month to month.

  • What is your cancellation and refund policy?

    You can cancel any time you like! The payments are charged monthly or annually (based on your choice now), recurring on the date you sign up. Due to the nature of the digital content, I cannot offer refunds for the months that you have paid. If you wish to cancel, you must do so before the next billing date. Refunds are not possible once your payment goes through. When you sign up now, you are locking in the price for yourself even if the membership price increases in the future! If you cancel and return later, you'll pay the new price of the membership is at that time.

  • Monthly Focus

    Each month we focus on one topic in quilting, free motion quilting to working with scraps or a gradient of color. This is the subject of our two recorded zoom calls each month, and a great way to explore your creativity.

  • Monthly Quilt Pattern

    Each month one new exclusive pattern is created and made available to you. These patterns will only be available to you inside the group, and won't be in my pattern shop.
